Tashkent

Tashkent is a cosmopolitan city, aired by large parks and cooled by numerous fountains. Take the underground train so as to see the architecture of the stations, similar to Moscow's. Stroll around the streets of Eski shakar in the Old Town, north from Chorsu bazaar, very lively at the week end. Very close-by, pay attention to the medersa (Koranic school) of Barak-Khan, decorated with fine mosaics and Arabic calligraphy and a little further down, before Navoi avenue, Kukeldash avenue, lined with a few 15th century houses. At night time, linger along the lively pedestrian street - Khamza - behind Tamerlan square
